I'm J.P. Linde: novelist, screenwriter, playwright, and former stand-up comedian. For most of my life, I've been telling stories in one form or another—from comedy clubs and improv stages to novels, screenplays, comics, theatrical productions, and produced features.
My work ranges from pulp adventure and noir mysteries to comedy, horror, and heartfelt drama. If there's a common thread running through it all, it's a fascination with ordinary people finding themselves in extraordinary situations—and somehow managing to laugh, survive, or stumble toward redemption along the way.

Son of Ravage — a pulp adventure saga blending action, humor, science fiction, and mythology, now expanding into a comic-book series.
Tales from the Chair — a collection of stories that wander through the eerie, the heartfelt, the mysterious, and the absurd.
The Last Argonaut — a modern adventure inspired by classic mythic storytelling.
Screenplays and Television Projects — including The Itinerary (formerly Paris Without Her), Tent City, Free Santa, Hooked, Line and Love, NOIR, Yes, And...,
Whether I'm writing a romantic comedy, a noir thriller, a monster story, or a family adventure, the goal remains the same: tell a story worth following.
Where I Came From
Before novels and screenplays, there was comedy.
I came up through the comedy trenches, writing and performing stand-up before founding the improv and sketch troupe No Prisoners. Along the way, I created and performed the one-man show Casually Insane and eventually made my national television debut on Showtime's Comedy Club Network.
What comedy taught me was timing. What storytelling taught me was heart.
It turns out the distance between a laugh and a gasp isn't very far at all.
That lesson continues to shape everything I write.
What I'm Doing Now
These days, I divide my time between novels, screenplays, short fiction, adaptation projects, pitch development, and whatever strange new idea refuses to leave me alone.
Recent releases include Tales from the Chair and The Last Argonaut, while several feature and television projects continue to circulate among producers, managers, and production companies.
I'm also expanding what I affectionately call the J.P. Linde Pulp Universe—a growing collection of stories connected less by continuity than by spirit: adventure, mystery, humor, imagination, and a healthy respect for the unexpected.
Why I Write
Because strange stories have a way of telling the truth sideways.
Because humor is often the shortest distance between people.
Because monsters, misfits, dreamers, and underdogs deserve their moment in the spotlight.
And because I've never been able to resist a tale that tilts just slightly off-center.
